Granite Stash chain tool resting on a rugged tree trunk, highlighting its durable design and outdoor functionality.

Description

The Granite Stash Chain Tool is a bike chain tool that lives inside your handlebar, so a chain breaker and a spare quick link ride with you every time. Pull it out, screw the steel pin into the side to make a T-handle, and it pushes rivets out of 9 to 12-speed chains.

It fits handlebars with an inner diameter over 18 mm and a 100 mm straight section at the bar end. Two side caps cover both grip types: 22 mm for close-end lock-on grips, 30 mm for open-end grips. No room in the bar? A second expansion rubber fits it into a hollow crank axle.

CNC-machined 7075 alloy, 35 g, black or orange. You need a 3 mm hex key to fit it and a 5 mm hex key to drive the pin. Winner of the Design & Innovation Award 2020. Carry plugs too? The Stash Tire Plug Kit fits the other bar end.

Granite Stash chain tool with labeled parts: steel pin, rivet driving screw, quick link storage, expansion rubber, and side cap.

Unscrew the steel pin and thread it into the side hole near the base. Now you have a T-handle to hold.

Seat the link, drive the pin

Drop the chain into the fixture so it bottoms out, line the rivet up with the pressing pin and turn it clockwise with a 5 mm hex key.
