Description

The Stash RT is a ratchet tool kit that lives inside your fork steerer. Push and turn the top cap and the ratchet pops out on a spring. Nothing to pack, nothing to leave on the bench.

A two-way mini ratchet rated to 20 Nm, with nine bits from 2 to 8 mm hex, T25 and a long PH1. It spins bolts where a folding multi-tool can't swing. 159 g installed.

Fits 1-1/8" to 1.5" tapered steerers with a 170 to 250 mm stack, no star nut needed. Not for Fox 38 Performance or eMTB forks. Straight steerer? See the Stash RCX.

  Feature

  • Two-way mini ratchet Takes 1/4" bits, 92 mm long, rated to 20 Nm. Faster than a folding key in tight spots, and it reaches bolts a big multi-tool can't.
  • Nine bits 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm hex, T25, and an extended PH1 that clips on as a leverage handle.
  • Lives in your steerer The housing and bits sit inside the fork tube on a spring-loaded holder. Push and turn the top cap to pop the ratchet out.
  • Installs without tapping Replaces the star nut. Three M6 bolts (50, 80 and 110 mm) are included to match your steerer stack; a 5 mm and 6 mm hex key set the headset preload.
  • Built for the trail AL6061 tool housing, CR-V steel ratchet, S2 steel bits. 159 g installed, and it never rattles loose in a pack because there is no pack.
  • Add a computer or an AirTag The top cap takes a Scope computer mount for Garmin, Bryton and Wahoo; the lower cap takes a Stash AirTag mount. Both sold separately.

Fits inner-tapered forks like the RockShox Pike and Lyrik or Fox 36 and 38. The housing needs about 121 mm of clear steerer inside.

Not for Fox 38 Performance or eMTB forks. For a road or closed straight steerer, the Stash RCX uses an expander and fits 23.5-27 mm round steerers instead.

Install

1. Remove the star nut

1. Remove the star nut

Take off the top cap and stem to reach the star nut inside the steerer. Remove it and clean the tube. No tapping.

2. Fit the housing, set preload

Refit the stem with the steerer sitting about 3 mm low. Drop in the tool housing, run the matching M6 bolt down to the lower assembly and tighten to 2-3 Nm, then align and tighten the stem bolts.

3. Load the bits and ride

3. Load the bits and ride

Load the bits with the big end to the magnet and the M6 bit at the bottom, drop the ratchet in and close the top cap. Push and turn to pop it out on the trail.
